Book Review: Caleb Williams by William Godwin
Caleb Williams is set at the end of the 18th century and is considered the first political novel to be written. It is a psychological expression of Godwin’s political ideas. William Godwin was an 18th century writer and activist who responded passionately to the French Revolution in 1789 and the political consequences this brought across Europe.
